Biography

Novikova has an artistic voice that is colorful, imaginative and engaging. Often referred to as impressionistic in style, the paintings draw viewers into her creative world. Inna’s works are characterized by its’ whimsy and juxtaposition of materials and colors. She is one of the most exhibited Nebraska artists of the present generation, living and working in Omaha, home to such internationally recognized artists as Steve Joy and June Kaneko and such renowned art institutions as Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts and Hot Shops.
Novikova’s art have been exhibited by a wide array of art venues in Nebraska, Minnesota, Kansas, Missouri and South Dakota including Hot Shops, Norfolk Art Center, Fred Simon Gallery, Nebraska Governor’s Mansion, Carnegie Art Center, Dundee Gallery, Cornucopia Art Center and The Third Eye Gallery. Inna’s paintings have also been purchased or commissioned by private and corporate collectors in USA, Israel, England, Germany, Kazakhstan and Russia. She was selected by the Nebraska Arts Council for the 2005 Governor's Mansion Exhibition Program in Lincoln, Nebraska and for the 2007 Nebraska Showcase Exhibition Program in Omaha, Nebraska. In 2006 the Art World News Magazine listed Novikova as one of the "artists worth watching".
Born in Almaty, Kazakhstan (former USSR) Inna Novikova moved to the United States in 1996. She studied fine art and art history and also contributed as a writer to Omaha’s weekly journal The Reader. Still focused on her signature style of works, she has been studying the ancient Byzantine-Russian tradition of icon-writing.
